HALL, Ethel (nee Smith) – (ageless) died unexpectedly at her residence in Montreal on August 24, 2013. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anne Smith. Beloved wife of T. Norman. Loving mother of Stephen, Mitchell (Kelly) and Duncan (Stefani). Granny of Tyler, Chelsea, Lyndsay, Meaghan, Duncan Alexander and Madison Mackenzie. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Ethel was adored by all. She epitomized elegance, intelligence and was a faithful friend with a mischievous sense of humour. She dedicated her life to the sport of tennis in Quebec and to Tennis Canada. Ethel was a graduate of Dalhousie University and an accomplished athlete who excelled at any sport she attempted. She represented Canada in the Friendship Cup vs. the USA in 1985. If Ethel touched your life, please join us in celebrating hers. A gathering will be held at the Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd.(corner Isabella), Montreal, QC. on Friday, August 30 from 2-4 p.m. A private interment will follow in Halifax, N.S. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the care provided during her courageous battle.
