First Baptist Church Halifax extends sincere sympathy to Frank Brown and family in the loss of his father, Gary Brown of Dartmouth, who died on December 19.
BROWN, Gary F. Age 66, of Dartmouth, passed away suddenly on December 19, 2013. Born March 28, 1947, in Amherst. He was a son of the late Frank William Brown and Edythe Alice (Mattinson) Brown. Gary was passionate about hunting and fishing and spent much of his life doing so. He was a craftsman of all sorts of things who loved to cook and bake. He enjoyed making things for his children and grandchildren who will be at a huge loss without him. Gary was retired after 25 years of service with Maritime Tel & Tel as a Senior Method Analyst. Gary is survived by his loving and adoring children, Frank (Barbara), Melanie (Steve), Blake (Mary), Raelene (Kenny); grandchildren, Mathew, Katherine, Tyler, Cody, Kayla, Victoria, and Emily; brother, Kim (Audrey) Brown, Mississauga, Ont., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Donna (Bourgeois) Brown, whom he missed terribly; his parents and parent-in-law, Leon and Jean (MacDonald) Bourgeois; brothers, Glenn and Donny. Gary will be resting peacefully in Atlantic Funeral Home, 7 7 1 Main St., Dartmouth, where the family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, December 22. The funeral service will be held in the chapel 2 p.m. December 23, Rev. Bryan Hagerman Officiating. A donation in Gary’s memory can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
