First Baptist Church Halifax extends sincere sympathy to the family and friends of the late John Albert Duggan for whom a memorial service will be held at hSnow’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15 at 2 p.m.
John Albert “Al” Duggan, age 91 of Halifax passed away January 6, 2014 at the QEII, Victoria General Hospital. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late William and Mary (Hardiman) Duggan. After service in the Canadian Armed Forces overseas during WWII, Al was employed by Maritime Island Tel (Now Bell Aliant) until his retirement. He was for many years an active member of Telecom Pioneers of Canada. He enjoyed playing golf with his wife in Chester for many years, while spending time at their summer home in Blandford. Al always had DIY projects on the go around the house and enjoyed all of them. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis and niece, Marilyn Schnare. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Howard; sisters, Marie, Eileen, Mae; niece, Shirley and nephew, Jim. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 2:00 pm at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531). Rev John E. Boyd officiating. Cremation has taken place.
