Guest Speaker: Ruth Jackson

Ruth is an avid gardener and plant enthusiast. Her early career with the Geological Survey of Canada has helped to shape her love of gardens as she thinks of the garden soil in layers. She is a past president of the Atlantic Rhododendron & Horticultural Society (ARHS) where she held this position for four-years. Her garden has been featured in a Canadian gardening magazine, and also part of the YMCA Garden Tours, Halifax.

In the last six months Ruth has visited two of the world’s major botanical gardens: Kew Gardens, UK, and Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania. She is an avid fan of the BBC TV how “Gardeners’ World” and the American YouTube presentations called “Garden Answer”.

Presentation Title: Bulbs for Local Gardens
