Outreach Christmas Gift Program

Outreach Christmas Gift Program

Dear Friends of First Baptist Church Halifax,

As we approach the season of celebration and joy and prepare for our Advent and Christmas traditions, please remember our Christmas Gift Program.  The Christmas Gift Sunday Service will be held on December 4, 2022.  This service helps us focus on the importance of sharing our gifts with others so they might have a brighter Christmas.  We are reminded that there are families and children in our community who go without the many things that we take for granted, and this is particularly true during the pandemic.

With your kind donations, we will be working with Ward 5 again this year to provide gifts for 70 – 75 people ($75 per) and give $1,500.00 toward the Christmas dinner programs for Ward 5 and Parker Street.  Gifts for our refugee families will also be purchased.

Last year $7,275.00 was donated by members of our congregation enabling us to help 85 people with warm clothing, household items, and toys.  Monetary donations were given to Ward 5 and the Parker Street Christmas Dinner Programs.  We also provided funds for The Angel Tree Gift Program supported by the Prison Fellowship of Canada.

How to donate to our Christmas Gift Program

  1. You can make an e-transfer to First Baptist Church Halifax.  In the Message box of the e-transfer link, include your name, reference CHRISTMAS OUTREACH GIFT FUND and send to accounting@fbchalifax.ca.
  2. Mail (or drop off) a cheque made payable to First Baptist Church Halifax, 1300 Oxford Street, Halifax NS B3H 3Y8 and reference CHRISTMAS OUTREACH GIFT FUND.
  3. Put your donation, marked CHRISTMAS OUTREACH GIFT FUND, in an envelope and bring it with you to Sunday worship.

Donations are needed by December 7th so our shoppers will have time to purchase and wrap the gifts.

Volunteers Needed
Lots of shoppers are needed, and Ward 5 is hoping that FBCH will help with the delivery of the food boxes and gifts on December 17th this year.  If you can help, please call me, Gwendolyn MacLean (902 425 6959) or email me at gfmaclean@gmail.com, or you can call the church office (902 422 5203).

Thank you very much for your dedicated and generous support.  May the spiritual gifts of the season – love, peace, faith and joy – be with you always!

Sincerely,

Gwendolyn MacLean, Chair
