Remembrance Day Sunday
Worship: 10:30am
Just Lunch: 11:45am (bring a sack lunch)

Guest Preacher and Just Lunch Presenter:
Jonathan Schut (pronounced “shoot”), is the Regional Representative for the Mennonite Central Committee in Atlantic Canada. As a former pastor, he has a deep love for the local church, and is energized by the work he gets to do engaging local church communities in conversations about how they can do the work of peace and justice in their neighbourhoods. When he’s not travelling the Atlantic Region with MCC, Jonathan is most likely to be found either on a baseball field as an umpire, or on a golf course, enjoying some time outdoors! He lives in Cornwall, PEI, with his wife Tera-Mae and their dog (who still thinks she’s a puppy!) Lucy.

A Word from the Deacon Ad Hoc Committee for Global Justice & Baptist Connections
Last spring, the Deacons appointed an ad hoc committee to research potential partners that could help FBCH participate in justice work across Canada and around the world. This fall, the committee is focusing on a couple of these potential partners, including the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). The MCC has an affirming policy, shares our Anabaptist roots, and engages in significant work in Canada and around the world. You are encouraged to join us on November 9 for the Just Lunch session as we seek to learn more about the MCC and continue our discernment about a potential partnership. You might also take time to learn more about the work of the MCC, click here for the MCC website. The committee hopes to have recommendations to bring to the Congregation at the Annual Meeting in February.
