Pride Meetup: Evening Speaker Series “Indigenous And Two-Spirit Excellence”

Pride Meetup: Evening Speaker Series “Indigenous And Two-Spirit Excellence”

Join us as we celebrate Pride by meeting up to listen to an enthralling talk at the Halifax Central Library. This talk, titled “Indigenous And Two-Spirit Excellence”, will future our very own Jeremy Dutcher, and will discus the intersection between indigeneity, Two-Spirited identity, and creativity. As Halifax’s pride guide explains, “Jeremy Dutcher has had a remarkable year, winning both a Juno Award and the Polaris Prize for his debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa”. While looking back on his success  Jeremy and former Halifax Poet Laureate, Rebecca Thomas will examine “how his Indigenous and Two-Spirit identities shape his music and his activism” and how such forces within his “work contribute to what Jeremy describes as an Indigenous renaissance”.

Don’t miss out on this amazing experience! Meet us by the circulation desk at 6:45. See you there!
