Upcoming Congregational Meetings

Upcoming Congregational Meetings

As David Dexter, co-chair of our Property Redevelopment Committee (PRC), mentioned at our last congregational meeting, we are in a dynamic stage of the process with the developer of the parsonage lands. The PRC anticipates that in the coming weeks the developer will present plans to the congregation and then, on a following Sunday, the congregation will act on a recommendation from the PRC.

Timing of these meetings is tied to work currently underway, thus the PRC is calling meetings pending confirmation in News Notes prior to the Sunday the meeting is called. The PRC is keeping the option open for a May 18 presentation and May 25 Congregational Meeting. More information will come out next week as plans are solidified.

Congregational Meeting
Sunday, May 18 following worship
A complete agenda and supporting information will be emailed prior to the meetings. On May 18, there will be an update on the kitchen fundraiser, construction estimate, and a motion to proceed to construction. In addition, there will be an information session on the Heritage Development Agreement Application. This will be an opportunity to learn what the developer is proposing for the parsonage lands, see renderings, ask questions, and provide feedback to the Property Redevelopment Committee (PRC).

Congregational Meeting
Sunday, May 25, following worship
A second Congregational Meeting is called for Sunday, May 25 Assuming the congregation does not find anything that is significantly unacceptable to us or varies from our previous understanding of the proposed development, a motion will be put forward to approve the Heritage Development Agreement Application. The PRC will further explain what the congregation’s role at this stage is and is not as stipulated by the Purchase and Sale Agreement approved by the congregation in December 2023.
