He was the second of their two sons. He attended Epworth Junior School, (now Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School). The family moved once again to New Brunswick Canada where he would graduate from Fredericton High School.
In Bermuda, Arthur enjoyed tennis and was on the high school cross country team. He also received many prizes and was on the school’s honour roll.
Arthur was a reserved and quiet person with a desire for learning. Firstly, he chose to study and graduated with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He would then go on to graduate as a member of the first class of a new program and receive a Diploma in Automated Manufacturing Technology. Returning to his studies once more Arthur would finally receive his Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
Upon graduation, Arthur worked at Pratt and Whitney because of his qualifications in CADCAM and CNC programming. He was in the first group of employees at Pratt and Whitney in their Halifax operation and helped lay the foundation of their new plant that designed and manufactured aircraft engines and power plants. He would find himself being flown to various Pratt and Whitney facilities in North America to further his knowledge in engine design.
