March 19, 1931 – February 9, 2023. Passed peacefully away in his sleep at home in his 92nd year. Ken leaves his wife of 67 years, Audrey; daughters, Lynn and Leslie (Christopher); grandchildren, Nick and Kathleen; and brother, David. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and the Lewis Mountain cousins. Ken was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Joan. Ken started his career with the air force but switched paths to take up what became a lifelong career in education, first as a classroom teacher and then as an administrator. Ken was happily retired for the last 30 years and enjoyed traveling, especially to the small towns on the Costa Blanca in Spain where many happy months were spent over the years. Bridge, good books, and soaking up the sun were favourite pastimes. A funeral will not be held, but a celebration of life will take place at a future date. Ken’s body has been donated to Dalhousie University. A special thank you to Ken’s caregiver, Denis Fris, for his warm professionalism over the last year and a half. Memorial donations to Hope for Wildlife, or a charity of choice, would be gratefully appreciated.
