CAMERON, Rose Bertha – We are saddened to announce the passing of Rose B. Cameron, on January 16, 2020. She died peacefully at home in Dartmouth. Born April 4, 1927 in West Quoddy, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Moser) Scrivens. Rose spent her early years in the Eastern Shore area moving briefly with her family to New Glasgow where she graduated from New Glasgow High in 1943. Rose enjoyed administrative roles and among a variety of positions she worked at Ben’s Bakery and later spent twenty years in the Office of the Controller at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography from where she retired in 1990. Rose enjoyed travel with Fiji and Australia being among her favorite destinations. She also enjoyed knitting, outings with family and friends and could never turn down a game of crib. She was pre-deceased by husband Robert, brother Cyril and granddaughter Jessica Rose Cameron. Rose is survived by daughters Pam, Montreal; Marlene (David) Dexter, Seabright; sons Greg (Jane), Windsor; Kevin, Vancouver; Glenn, Dartmouth; and Trevor (Dana), Lake Echo; and many grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family greatly appreciated son Glenn’s care for Rose in recent years so that she was able to stay at home. Special thanks to Ashley whose compassionate care for Rose made it all a little easier. To respect Rose’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside committal will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Society or to a charity of your choice.
